Installation

SCALE-RT is a software package which operates normally on two different computers (Target and Host). In the majority of cases the Target and Host Computers have different operating systems (LINUX and Windows). Therefore two installations are required.

SCALE-RT CD Distribution:

If you have ordered the CD package of SCALE-RT you will be provided with 2 installation CDs. The first CD is the 'SCALE-RT for Windows Host Installation'.

Insert the 'SCALE-RT for Windows Host Installation' CD into the 'Host PC' and double-click the 'scale-rt-host-setup.exe'.

Proceed with the Host-Computer Installation from CD procedure.

The second CD is the 'SCALE-RT Target LiveCD'.

Refer to the chapter RT-Target Installation for a detailed description of this installation process.

SCALE-RT Internet Distribution:

If you have downloaded the 'SCALE-RT for Windows Host Installation' installer from the WEB you can start the 'scale-rt-host-setup.exe' directly from your download folder.

Proceed with the Host-Computer Installation from CD procedure.

You also need the 'SCALE-RT Target LiveCD' iso-image which can be downloaded from SCALE-RT website at the following location:

http://www.scale-rt.com/downloads/current_liveCD.iso

This iso-image allows you to create the 'SCALE-RT Target LiveCD'.

Please refer to your CD burning program for more information about creating CDs from iso-images.

Note: Measurement hardware is only supported after target activation. Refer to the SCALE-RT Suite chapter in this manual.
