The License Manager in the SCALE-RT Suite guides the user through the activation process.
All real-time targets have to be activated. Without the activation no measurement hardware can be used.
To activate a real-time target a valid license key is required. A license key can only be used for the activation of a single real-time target.
It is not necessary to activate a target via internet if you have already received a license file (license.dat) for this real-time target.
If you do not have a license file select 'Activate new target'.
To install an existing license file (license.dat) on the target select 'Install existing license.dat'.
Activate new target
The following dialog will be shown if you have selected 'Activate new target'.
Insert your name, the name of your company and the license key for your new real-time target.
The last license key will be stored in the registry of your Windows PC.
A real-time target will be assigned to a key (a separate license key is needed for every real-time target).
Insert the IP-address of your real-time target or click on Scan Network to select your target from a list of active targets.
The MAC address of the target is acquired automatically.
The root password of the real-time target is required to install the license file.
There are two different ways to activate a target (via email or via the internet):
Request license file via email:
You will be asked whether you want to send the request now or later.
If you select now, your email client will be opened and a email with the activation request will be generated.
The email content is plain text and can be read before sending the mail.
If you have selected 'send later' the request will be stored in a text file.
Send this email or the text file to license@cosateq.com.
You will receive a license.dat for your real-time target.
Please proceed with the installation of the license file ('Install existing license.dat').
Activate target via internet:
This is the preferred way to activate a target.
Your PC will directly send the activation request via internet.
The real-time target will be automatically activated with the servers response and the following dialog will be shown.
Select 'Yes' to restart the real-time target.
Install existing license.dat
The following dialog will be shown if you have selected 'Install existing license.dat'.
Select the license file on your local hard disk.
Enter the IP-address of yout real-time target or click on Scan Network to select your target from a list of active targets.
Enter the password of the user root and click on 'Install license file'.
On successful installation the following dialog will be shown.
Select 'Yes' to restart the real-time target.
