After you have installed SCALE-RT on your harddisk, it is possible to change the following basic settings:

The pre-installed 'NetworkManager' allows the changing of these settings through a user-friendly GUI frontend interface.

1. Login on the real-time target PC (username: "root" / password: "targetroot")

2. To access the 'NetworkManager' click:

   >>  'System'  >>  'Networking'

3. Depending on your system's configuration, several interfaces might be listed. Select the interface to be configured and click 'Properties'.

4. An 'Interface properties' setup screen appears. If either 'Dynamic IP' (dhcp) or 'Static IP address' is required

choose the corresponding menu entry in the drop-down menu and click 'OK'.

5. Activate the interface by selecting the appropriate interface and clicking the 'Activate' option as shown in the following screen:

Warning : It is necessary to activate the interfaces.

Note: Check the interface / network cable if an interface can not be activated

Note : The DNS (Domain Name Server) can also be set using the 'NetworkManager'. Execute the following steps to set the DNS:

'NetworkManager also assists  by changing the 'hostname'. To change the 'hostname' open the register 'General' and modify the 'hostsname'.
